Upcoming Price Changes

From October 1st, there will be some changes to our pricing across Lakeland Climbing Centres. Each year, like most walls across the UK, we review our prices in line with the increasing costs of running our centres.

This allows us to continue improving and maintaining our facilities, setting great climbs, and delivering the experiences you all enjoy.

We know that rising costs affect everyone, so we’re here to explain how we’ll soften the impact and allow you to climb for less during the year ahead.

Why we’re making this change

There’s a lot that goes into running a climbing centre. From rent, energy and general maintenance to climbing holds, volumes and specialist insurance, our operating costs are constantly increasing. In many cases, these increases are outpacing inflation.

We’re committed to making sure our customers have a great experience when they visit us, and we are constantly looking for ways to improve our facilities and the time you all spend with us.

• Better centres – We’ve invested more than £500,000 into our northern centres over recent years, and we’re not stopping there. The new reception and café at KendalWall is currently taking shape, and we have some exciting investment plans for LancasterWall coming soon.
• Better climbing – New holds and volumes, regular resurfacing and replacing older equipment all help us keep the walls fresh, varied and exciting.
• A stronger team – We’re investing in our staff through regular pay increases and additional training. We want climbing to be an industry where talented people can develop, progress and build a career.

We appreciate that nobody welcomes a price increase, but these changes help us continue investing in the centres, the climbing and the people who make it all happen.

Helping you get the best value

We don’t want anyone to feel caught out, so we’ve built in a few ways to help ease the change:

• Top Up and Save in September – Add credit to your account and pay at today’s prices, ready to use whenever you need.
• A new Magic Time slot at KendalWall from 7pm–10pm on Friday evenings! – We offer Magic Time to give those less able to pay a time when they can come in and climb at a heavily reduced rate. We hope that this new slot will help even more people enjoy climbing who would otherwise struggle.
• We’ve waived the membership start-up fee throughout September’s Top Up and Save – Normally £20, it’s completely waived in September to make it even easier to get unlimited access to all our centres.
• Membership and multi-visit savings – Regular climbers will see the smallest changes. Memberships are increasing by just £1 a month, and we’re freezing our monthly Under 18 bolt-ons to help keep your family climbing for less.

We know that price changes aren’t anyone’s favourite news, but we hope this helps explain the reasons behind it and the steps we’re taking to keep climbing as affordable as possible while continuing to improve what we offer.
