Upcoming Price Changes

We want to let you know about some small changes to our pricing, which will take effect from October 1st, and what we’ve put in place to help soften the impact and allow you to climb for less during the year ahead.

At Lakeland Climbing Centres, and like most climbing walls across the UK, we review our prices each year and have to make adjustments to keep up with rising costs.

We’ve listened to your feedback from previous years, so this time we’re giving you a full month to plan ahead, as well as keeping certain prices lower to help you save in the long run.

This year’s average increase is 3.5% – under inflation.

Why we’re making this change

Running climbing centres comes with a lot of ongoing costs – things that all businesses face like rent, utilities, maintenance, but also holds, and specific insurance – which continue to rise year-on-year.

At the same time, we’re committed to:

• Continually investing in your climbing experience – new holds, volumes, and resurfacing existing holds to give them new life (and avoid unnecessary waste).
• Improving and maintaining our centres for years to come – over the past two years we’ve invested over £500,000 in our northern centres to ensure our venues deliver a leading climbing experience.
• Supporting our team – with consistent pay rises, more training opportunities, and growing our management team so that the climbing industry can nurture talent and offer a genuine career path.

We know that no one welcomes a price increase, but these small changes allow us to keep investing in the centres you love and the people who run them.

Helping you get the best value

We don’t want anyone to feel caught out, so we’ve built in a few ways to help ease the change:

• We’ve pushed this years increase back a month – giving everyone more time to take advantage of current prices.
• Top Up and Save in September – add credit to your account and pay at today’s prices, ready to use whenever you need.
• We have waived the membership start up fee throughout September’s Top Up and Save – normally £20, completely waived in September to make it even easier to get unlimited access to all our centres.
• Membership and multi-visit savings – regular climbers will see the smallest changes:
  
  • Monthly memberships are only increasing by £2 for both Adult and Concession rates.
  • Annual memberships are going up just £10 – which works out at only 84p per month.
  • We’re also freezing the price of our under-18 bolt-on memberships, so your family can continue to enjoy unlimited climbing at the same great value.
  • Punch cards (2 year expiry) are also only seeing a small increase: 10 adult punches from £117 → £122 (23.75% cheaper than standard entry)
